Inman Square Part (with potential for Full-Time) Store Sales and Stylist
Job Description:
The store lead is a mix of Front of house Sales and Back of House shop-keeper who takes a lead role in ensuring sales goals are achieved by excelling in customer sales, managing inventory, and ensuring the store is at it’s best visual expression, and ensures the store is supported through staffing and operational maintenance to keep it on point for all who work and enter.
This is a part-time position up to 30 hours and may lead to full time.
Three in-store shifts (Mondays are must) including a weekend shift and one shift back of house.

Sales and Styling: You know how to sell. You engage and cultivate trust which in turn cultivates community and conversion. You do this by being yourself, being self aware, knowing what’s on the sales floor and being passionate about it.
- Inventory management: Work closely with store owner to ensure Inman Square inventory is optimized. This includes ensuring items are on the floor, priced, signed while maintaining inventory integrity. This includes ensuring inventory is accurate, managing transfers, stock takes and rolling inventories.

Visual Merchandising: Weekly store updates with monthly window refreshes to create a compelling, inviting, and curious community and keep them coming in for favorite finds. This includes price signs and shelf talkers for self-selling. We have a beautiful front window at our Inman Store location which we change out monthly with different displays on-theme with the season! And our small but mighty 420 sq. ft. store gets re-merched more on a weekly basis.

Maintain and Manage Inventory Quality Control by ensuring items are properly stocked, folded, hung, buttoned/zipped, tidied, and at best expressed for an excellent customer experience leveraging We Thieves standards and perhaps bringing your own expertise!

Assist in managing the store schedule and scheduling issues: You participate in the creation of the Inman Store schedule and you are the point person for any scheduling conflicts for Inman Square and are on call should there be an issue.

Participate in the ideation, production, execution of In-store events and sales.

Participate in weekly huddle -Participate in weekly meetings with business owner and other store manager about store events, marketing, and sales, etc. As well as communicate with the whole team via Slack and email on a regular basis.

Maintain positive relationships with customers and staff and get to know the community. Cultivate community and conversation. Treat customers the way the host of a party would treat their guests; warm, welcoming, and without pretense. Ability to remember customer’s vintage requests is a huge plus.

Store Maintenance. This includes some dirty work - vacuuming, cleaning the HVAC filter, maintaining the de-humidifier, etc. When our store is well maintained - it helps us sell better.

Open and close the store including handling cash deposits, running key reports, and communicating with the owner / manager.

Eventually participate in buys and vintage picks.
Requirements:

Previous retail experience IS required.

Comfortable asking open-ended questions, breaking the ice, establishing trust, with strong, active listening skills and a high level of ease talking to all kinds of people.

Service forward. Have an innate desire to serve, meaning you enjoy helping others and naturally do it. This is intuitive and not taught - you go the extra distance out of joy, not because you have to.

Strong sense of aesthetics and personal style with a demonstrated interest and knowledge of culture, pop culture, vintage, art, fashion history, textiles design, fashion design and brand history.

Strong time management skills and the ability to self-direct and take initiative in tackling tasks and projects without being asked. Good at handling projects when they’re slow (because there’s always something that can be done).

“Roll-up your sleeves” and solution-oriented. You add value by being willing to get your hands dirty (including cleaning a bathroom) and by bringing ideas to improve our store.

Organized with an attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize competing projects and tasks.

Technical needs: Solid level of the iOS operating system and use of an iPad and mobile technology.

Software and point of sale (POS) knowledge including working with LightSpeed or other a huge plus along with Slack, Google Drive, and other Google oriented software.

Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, lift boxes, climb stairs, handle textiles in large quantities prior to laundering, stand for periods of time, bend, lift, climb ladders, and work with rolling racks.
Starting wage at $20/ hour, depending on experience and availability.
