We are seeking a part time sales associate and stylist 15-20 hours per week with availability now and through the summer. This is the ideal job for someone seeking responsibility, consistency, creativity, and the chance to work within a wonderful community.
Part-Time Store Sales Associate + Stylist and Key Holder
- Cultivate community and conversion. Treat customers the way the host of a party would treat their guests; warm, welcoming, and without pretense.
- Product knowledge and wherewithal. Become confident with collections and products including vintage denim, apothecary, jewelry, and small batch designers in order to optimize sales through exceptional knowledge, communication, service, recommendations, and add ons. Training will be provided.
- Restocking / replenishment, receiving, pricing, steaming and assisting with rolling inventories.
- Store maintenance and shopkeeping, including but not limited to dusting / cleaning and maintaining an organized store for both our customers and ourselves. This includes cleaning a bathroom and maintaining our stockroom / basement and ensuring the store is at its best expression and organized for ourselves and our customers.
- Assist in visual merchandising including displays / mannequins, creating store signs, and helping us create a warm and inviting space.
- Care for clothing including: Folding, hanging, steaming, buttoning/ zipping, steaming, and at best expression for an excellent customer experience leveraging We Thieves standards.
- Communicate with the team / management via Slack and email. Answer the phone and respond to customer issues with ease and professionalism.
- Assist with store POP-UP’s which includes weekends, physical demands listed below and working in outdoor climates.

Eventually open and close the store including handling cash deposits, running key reports, and communicating with owner / manager.
- Comfortable with social media (instagram) including creating stories, reels, and other forms of content that help us grown, engage, and sell with our community.
Requirements
- Two shift minimum with weekend and weekday availability a must.
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
- You are comfortable selling (meaning, you know how to establish trust and connection)
- Punctual, dependable, communicative with a high level of integrity, meaning you do what you will say you will do, with the ability to communicate your needs effectively.
- Absolutely must be a people-person who is energized by conversation with strangers, can work a room and connect with others organically.
- Self awareness and emotional intelligence. You are aware of your own energy and how that translates to others and you can anticipate customer needs.
- Service forward. Have an innate desire to serve, meaning you enjoy helping others and naturally do it. This is intuitive and not taught - you go the extra distance out of joy not because you have to. .
- Strong sense of aesthetics and personal style with a demonstrated interest and knowledge of style, design, culture, pop-culture, vintage, art, fashion history, textiles design, or fashion design and brand history.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to self-direct and take initiative in tackling tasks and projects without being asked or are good at handling projects when it’s slow (because there’s always something that can be done).
- “Roll-up your sleeves” and solution-oriented. You add value by willing to get your hands dirty (including cleaning a bathroom) and by bringing ideas to improve our store.
- Organized with an attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize competing projects and tasks.
- Technical needs: Solid level of the iOS operating system and use of an iPad and mobile technology.
- Software and point of sale (POS) knowledge including working with LightSpeed or other a huge plus along with Slack, Google Drive, and other Google oriented software.
Bonus points:
- You sew. We love having folx to help us care for the garments we love.
- You have a strong visual merchandising acumen. You understand the psychology of a good display.
Physical demands: Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, lifting boxes, climbing stairs, handling textiles in large quantities prior to laundering, standing for periods of time, bending, lifting, climbing ladders, and working with rolling racks.
Starting wage at $17 /hour, depending on experience with 60 day training and period and can increase from there with opportunity for extra earnings for other projects including social media, sewing, and or visual display work.
