Wild Rose Thorn Necklace in Sterling Silver
This delicate and daring necklace centers a virginia rose thorn in a fine chain. The virginia rose is a hardy rose native to the southeastern United States. It is now often cultivated in cottage style gardens and wildflower meadow gardens and is tolerant of poor soils and cold. It blooms with pink flowers loved by pollinators and yields edible rose hips. Persistence and wildness. The feeling of being alone in a meadow.

About Thicket:
Thicket is for anyone who has ever loved a small corner of landscape. Designer Rebecca Perea-Kane grew up in New England fascinated by wood frogs, painted turtles, and pitcher plants. After working for other independent jewelry and textile designers, and an MFA in poetry, Rebecca launched Thicket in 2014.
Thicket pieces begin with a mold of found and foraged natural objects. This mold is used in the process of lost wax casting which creates perfect replicas of the original object in solid fine metal. The casting is done by an artisan casting house in New York City's jewelry district that specializes in working with recycled metals. From there each piece is made with heirloom care, by hand, in Thicket's sunny studio in Portland, Maine.
