Absolutely stunning vintage 90s Hermès "Les Oiseaux Des Champs Et Des Bois" scarf in 100% silk, designed by artist Hugo Grygkar in 1937, a hundred years after Hermès, which initially was a bridle and saddle company, was founded. Grygkar was the first and the most prolific silk carré designer for the brand, which is renowned for its storied history of world famous artists creating square scarf designs. This design, which was reissued in 1953, features a design of songbirds on a wire frame with a wood border, rendered in blues, greens, pinks, and beiges against a highly saturated bold red background. Hand-rolled edges with the Hermes copyrighted signature at the center of the bottom. Made in France. Priced and sold as-is; some minor staining in areas.
