Palo Santo is a South American tree, Bursera graveolens and is a relative of the Frankincense tree of Africa, Myrrh, and Copal. It is part of the citrus family and has notes of pine, mint, and lemon.

- Contains a high concentration of d-limonene, an aromatic molecule found in citrus and frankincense among other botanicals.

-The smoke clears away old energy and the scent is centering and grounding, making it a great tool for smudging or clearing and for use prior to meditation.

-Using palo santo incense reduces unwanted odors, bacteria, and viruses. Also, it's pleasant and fresh smoke works well in keeping away mosquitoes and other flying insects which is one of the prime uses for the people who live in Ecuador and Peru.

* Note orders of 12 are a "bakers dozen" you get 13!!!

The wood of the tree used for incense can only be harvested from dead trees, the longer the tree is dead, the better the oil and wood.  It has been used for centuries in household and ritual use.

Use a candle, match or lighter to ignite your stick of Palo Santo.  Hold at about a 45-degree angle pointing the tip down toward the flame.  Allow it to burn for about 30 secs to 1 minute and then blow out.  Move about your workspace, home, car, bathroom or anywhere you would like to clear the energy.  The rich smell will also bring peace and clarity to the moment along with good feelings.  When finished, place the stick in a fireproof bowl of metal, glass or clay. The glow will end on its own unless you blow on the ember which will keep the smoke going.

Always use caution when working with fire.
